Our History

Kensal Rise Baptist Tabernacle (KRBT) was founded in 1890. The founding
members, Baptists, initially met in a room above a shop on Harrow Road, near The Mason Arms, before moving to an iron chapel in 1891 and then to its current location. The church endured challenges like bomb damage during World War II when services temporarily moved to a local school. The first minister was Rev Arthur Bridge.

Over the past 133 years, KRBT has experienced God’s faithfulness amid complex challenges. The current church building was completed on 5 August 1995, with renovations completed in July 2011. KRBT has benefitted from the ministry of faithful pastors like Rev T Maycock, Rev. Percy J. Smart, Rev. T.B Field, Rev. Thomas Williams, Rev. Alan Fleetwood, Rev. J Maethlu, Rev. A.E Oakley, Rev. R.W. Firmin assisted by Minister(s) Mr Gordon Meed and Mr Frank Ambrose, Rev. Larkman, Rev C. Taylor, and most recently Rev Manis Uduoborie, who was inducted on 16 September 2023.

KRBT stands grateful to God for His sovereign power, protection, and provision. It continues to be a faithful witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Northwest London. More details on KRBT’s rich history are available by contacting us at info@krbt.org or by following the link below:
