2019 Shoebox Appeal

35 boxes filled by KRBT for 2019 shoebox appeal

November 2019 saw KRBT get together again to collect clothes and toys donations for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal. The organisation send shoeboxes filled with these items to children around the world. For many of the children receiving this box, it will be the only present they will receive all year.

KRBT’s efforts have been orchestrated over the years by church members Catherine Constable and Yasmin Wilson; and Yasmin writes:

“We started donating to the shoe box appeal by the Samaritan Purse in November 2014. This is our data since then.
2014 — 35 boxes
2015 — 36 boxes
2016 — 38 boxes
2017 — 39 boxes
2018 — 42 boxes
2019 — 35 boxes

The destination of our boxes over the years have been to Eastern Europe.
We thank God for His continued work through us and for the support and generosity of the church family and friends.”

Schools Out For Summer!

We had another successful Summer club at KRBT from 28 – 31 July. With the ages of the children ranging from two to thirteen, we had to make sure the content was adapted and suitable for all. Plenty of games were played, food was ate but more important than all of that was that the children learnt more about God’s work.

The theme for the week considered the bible timeline of the Fall and the road to redemption. Day 1 – the children looked the Birth of the Saviour Baby, day 2 – his trial and crucifixion, and day 3 – his Resurrection. With 9 children on our peak day of Tuesday; the club was busy all the time and every helper was needed.

Thanks to the Sunday School leaders, church volunteers, parents and especially the children!
